10 ways to make money online during the pandemic

During the pandemic, there’s been a lot of economic uncertainty. Many people are facing a reduction of income, so it’s more important than ever to find ways to boost your income.

Whatever your goals, here are some simple ways to make some extra cash online:

1. Sell your unwanted items

This one is very simple, but can be effective. If you have lots of items you no longer need, you can start selling them using an online platform like Facebook Marketplace. Having a clear out is a great way to raise some extra cash with very little effort.

2. Make money from a hobby

If you have a hobby, you might be able to turn it into a small business. This can be very profitable, as handmade and unique items are in high demand. You can use online platforms like Etsy or eBay to sell your products, or you can start your own website and advertise online.

3. Transcribing

Transcribing video or audio content can be a fantastic way to earn some money online. It doesn’t require any experience or specific skills, and it’s very flexible. You can find transcribing work using a platform like TranscribeMe.

4. Sell an online course

If you’ve found yourself with a lot of free time and have knowledge in a particular subject area, you can make money by creating an online course and selling it online. There are various platforms available to do this, such as Udemy, which already has a large customer base.

5. Use a cashback website

You can make money while you shop using a cashback website like Quidco, which will give you money back on purchases. Once you receive your money, it can be transferred into your bank account. Depending on how much you spend, you could get a good return.

6. Start a blog or v-log

If you have any specific interests, why not start an online blog or v-log about them? If you build a significant following, you can make money from affiliate links and ads, which can add up. This is a brilliant way to make some extra money in lockdown and in the future.

7. Sell an e book

This is another option that’s suitable for anyone with lots of free time. If there’s a topic you’re interested in or have expertise in, or if you have fiction writing skills, you can sell an e book on Amazon. The process is fairly simple, and you can make some extra cash in commission.

8. Online tutoring

There’s a lot of demand for online tutors for various markets, including children, adults, university students, and foreign language students. If this is something you’re interested in, there are many online platforms available to find potential students.

9. Freelancing

You can build a steady income by finding freelancing gigs on websites like Fiverr. It’s easy to find jobs to suit your schedule, skills, and experience. There are lots of types of work available to bid on, and many people thrive doing freelancing work.

10. Online surveys

There are ample websites offering cash or other rewards for taking surveys. Although there are some scams out there, there are also many genuine opportunities to make some extra money. They’re rarely highly paid, but the compensation can add up over time.
