A new comedy film starring RuPaul is gaining attention for its bold mix of drag culture, disaster storytelling, and fast-paced humor. The movie, Stop That Train!, brings together a colorful ensemble cast as they face chaos aboard a high-speed train heading toward disaster.
The story follows two train attendants who are unexpectedly moved from a quiet, low-profile railway service to a luxury high-speed train filled with elite passengers. What initially seems like a dream job quickly turns into a nightmare when a severe storm threatens to derail the train, putting everyone on board at risk.
As the situation escalates, the train begins to lose control while panic spreads among passengers and crew. With systems failing and no immediate help available, survival depends on quick thinking and teamwork. Unexpected leaders step forward, including RuPaul’s character President Gagwell, who brings both humor and authority to the unfolding crisis.
The film uses exaggerated disaster scenarios and sharp comedy to create a fast-moving storyline. Inspired by classic disaster films, it blends satire with slapstick humor while keeping the focus on entertainment and high-energy performances.
One of the standout elements of Stop That Train! is its strong representation of drag performers in major film roles. The cast includes well-known drag artists who bring personality, humor, and emotional depth to the screen. Their characters range from train staff to unlikely heroes forced to work together under extreme pressure.
The movie highlights teamwork, resilience, and unity in the face of disaster while also celebrating drag culture in a mainstream cinematic space. By placing drag performers at the heart of an action-comedy narrative, the film pushes boundaries in both representation and genre storytelling.
With its upcoming release, Stop That Train! is already generating buzz for its unique concept, vibrant cast, and energetic tone. Audiences can expect a mix of comedy, chaos, and heartfelt moments set against a runaway train disaster scenario.
